CSPC UPDATE...

Yeah! BumbleflyBaby is still here! At least for the time being! The CSPC issued a stay on the Consumer Safety Protection Improvement Act until February 9, 2010. While this is a sign that they have realized there were MAJOR repercussions with allowing the act to go into effect on the 9th of this month and are hopefully in the process of making much needed improvements, there are still many uncertainties about our future. Hopefully they are taking their time to work through ways to improve the act... improvements that would prevent it from throwing small businesses like ours under the bus. We have no way of knowing what will be done to the current legislation and when, so our future remains uncertain. Please continue to put pressure on your legislators as the fight is far from over. Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) has announced he’s sponsoring legislation to amend the CPSIA. Again, the proposal is not a total solution but it’s a promising start. Some components of his plan are on his site.

We want to say thank you to all of you who have supported us with your kind messages and your business!  We have been truly overwhelmed!  We especially want to thank those of you who made an effort to contact your representatives regarding the CSPC’s law that could have potentially put many children’s product manufacturers out of business.  It definitely helped get the word out and hopefully made an impression on them.

We will continue to update our site as news and information becomes available so please stay tuned.  Again, we do not know the future of BumbleflyBaby, but for the time being we will continue offering our great quality, safe and durable products. Thank you for your support.
